Identify Figures - Hinton Hunt \ Hinchcliffe ?

Hi,

I have Napoleonic Figures of many many manufacturers and when rifling through some boxes found some that I have no idea who has made them. I suspect two are Hinton Hunt but the rest most likely mini figs version 1 or Hinchcliffe - Any help would be great !

Scots Grey

 French General
 Unknown General 1.
 Unknown General 1.

In other news after a few visits to Archduke Piccilo the WSS forces are out and being made. I have had spare time recently but motivation still flutters around. However something bad is happening and that is 1/35 scale modelling as it is actually what my brother and I first started doing when we were 10 or 11. I am slowly making 1/35 scale figures for dioramas, for a reason that still alludes me BUT as we all know this thirst must be satisfied !. Peter Jackson and his Turks are to blame

That yellow guy could be an early Minifigs, but I'd need a look at the horse's rump to be sure. Apart from that, none of them look like Hinchliffe to me. If you took the horses of their added bases and look underneath, a 'Triangle-H' motif (you'd know it when you saw it) would identify the figure as Hinchliffe. I THINK, but don't know for certain, that Hinton Hunt have a kind of 'HH' symbol in which the middle downstrokes merge into one. Some of my Austrian figures had this symbol under the base, which led me to infer they were Hinton-Hunt knockoffs (their quality was pretty poor and needed a lot of work to make them acceptable, which is why I believe they weren't the 'real thing')

I've undercoated the remainder of my WSS infantry, and black outlined one unit. This one is destined to be the white-coated Alt Heisier Infantry. Thanks for the paint: very handy.

Yes the horse on "My Yellow" has that classic minifigs rump though the figure is older.

I have the WSS undercoated and the another 18 left to finish but the last two nights I just could not get motivated to do do anything.

Cheers

The 1st unknown general's horse looks like early Minifigs, the 2nd unknown general's horse looks like 25mm Essex Miniatures, the two unknown generals look like 25mm Hinchliffe (usually one can tell with their long arms) The Scot's Grey looks like Peter Glider miniatures? from the 1970's

Thanks Phil.

I had been looking at blogs of players who have older figures but never could find. I suspected the horses might be a mismatch but as I purchased then second hand had no idea.

Cheers

The 1st (Scots Grey) looks very much like a Hinton Hunt. Certainly the horse is. The second (French General) is the Alberken (very early Minifig) version of Marshal Ney. I have one of these, and he has "Ney" very conveniently scratched onto the underside! He's ID'd and illustrated here: http://lazylimey.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/Alberken%20French%20Napoleonic%20Personalities

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the initial run through - I have one or two more I will post another day. The separate castings are glued to the horses in some unholy ancient glue that I cannot remove so I have not been able to see any maker's mark anywhere.

The Scots Grey is a single piece casting that came in a bag of Prince August V1 Scots greys.

I appear to have two Marshal Ney's then. I will post some other pics tomorrow of some other random figures and then sort out what to do with them.

Also thanks WM for the link to that blog.

Thanks again all.

Cheers
